Whirlpool Temp for hop additions

So for those still doing whirlpools at what temps are you adding yours?  I have been around 160 but recently seen Denny post he likes 120 best and another NEIPA group I am on had members going below 110.  I plan to try out a low whirlpool temp on a batch soon.

I've always been right around 160-170. I think I accidentally did a lower temp version one time but can't remember if it came out any different.

170° is common for me but I have done a number of things including stopping the chill and letting the hops sit for 15-20 minutes and then resuming and I've also dropped hops in around 160-170 and then just continued with the chill without a pause. Remember that I'm not a brewer that's in search of hop nirvana. :D

In the last few brews to test cryo hops, I've done 180, 160, and 120.  I got by far the best results at 120.  I got more isomerization than I cared for and less flavor and aroma at higher temps.

Maybe.  I don't know how much better it could get.  Only one way to find out, but I'm not sure when or if I will.

It's been at least a year for me and it was at 170df.  Nice, but evidently not enough to me to keep doing it.  I need to try 120df.  Maybe this weekend.  I have a lot of Halletau.............

The batch I did this on was a multi-repeat batch so I had a good baseline as to what to expect. I preferred the 170F batch for flavor and hoppy/resiny mouthfeel. Hops were all nobles. Saaz and Spalt Sel.

Maybe that has something to do with it?  I've been using cryo versions of American hops.
