I have hit a few brewery taprooms in the past month and the one aspect that seems to surprise me is the amount of dogs that are let in. Just this weekend I was at a very popular brewery outside of Boston and there must have been 20 dogs in there including two full size Great Danes. Maybe I am grouchy but not sure if I had a place I would want to risk having dogs in there with customers or that close to my brewing area not to mention the loss of space for paying customers. I was also a bit surprised by the amount of infants and toddlers just milling around while the parents were drinking for a few hours. Is this common everywhere?

I see far more kids in taprooms/tasting rooms than dogs, I've brought my kids so several brewery tasting rooms. around here it's a fairly common site to see kids, of all ages, at taprooms during the day

I can deal with the kids, although I am usually there to get away from mine .

I am one of the dog owners and we love that we can take our girl with us. Seattle is dog crazy.

I have brought my kids to taprooms on many occasions, then again, I supervise my kids and bring toys and whatnot to make sure they don't bother others.
Though my boy does love a good shuffleboard.
Dogs on the other hand... I don't get it. I mean, I have a dog. She's great and really well behaved as well, but I'd never bring her to a restaurant/brewery. Some people just aren't comfortable with animals, and I don't think it's fair to make those people have a bad time cause I wanna bring my dog. THAT said, I'm cool with dogs on the patio. I have seen that on occasion...but 20!?

outside yes, dogs seem fine. in an enclosed space no thanks. kids are also fine depending on the venue. I bring my kids to the wholefoods pub all the time but that's a pretty kid friendly place. they have jenga and stuff like that, it's very open, not super busy when we go and it's kind of loud in there so their volume level doesn't bother anyone. there are other bars and tap rooms I def would not bring my kids to.
I also would avoid bringing the kids to a place that only served beer. I figure the kids should at least be able to get a burger or something or they really have almost no reason to be there.

No problem with kids as long as they're not screaming and tearing ass around. Dogs, not if food is being served.
