I am contemplating having a racking cane permanently in my fermenter from start to transfer.  This would mainly be for beers that are not dry hopped.  It would allow me to have the vessel 100% closed after yeast is added.  My lids already have a corny gas in connector for CO2 purge or installation of a spunding valve so what my thought is currently is to use a SS tee and have it set up on a tri-clamp to allow for the racking cane and also co2 blowoff.  The cane will have a ss ball valve on it so that nothing leaks out during fermentation.  Other than over-complicating things, are there any issues with having a SS racking cane in the fermenter during fermentation?

This is what I had used in the past for beer transfer prior to the installation of the gas connector on the lid.  I plan to just modify this with some new ss parts and give it a try.

Nice fermenting bucket.

Thanks.  They are Chapman Steal Tanks that I have modified a bit to work well with my setup.
