Well, maybe a bit over 4%.  Cornmeal cream ale I've done a lot.  NB hops which I haven't used in a while.

Did a few forehead slap things early and realized I should be at a boil.  Shut down all the electricity and saw that one of the 240 legs to the element fried.  I had just checked it about 5 brews ago.  Everything looked fine - no signs of the wires overheating.  I had a spare element but no new spade connectors.

Pumped everything back to the EHLT to hold it and went to the hardware store.  Pumped it back and had lost some volume - I assumed evaporation.  Made my best guess on when to shut the boil down and ended up with 1.043 for a final gravity.  Expected 1.050 and maybe a bit more.  Guess I'll have a nice light session beer for the Holidays.

It'll be beer.......  B)
