I've just been putting my beer glasses in the dishwasher all these years and they get soap scum and shit on them and they look terrible.

Well I'm getting a display cabinet for all my steins and my glasses so I can finally get them out of the kitchen cabinets. TPW has broken so many of them moving them around that I've had enough. On top of that I bought a bunch of crystal tuplip whisky glasses (glencairn) for tasting beer and drinking whisky and I wasn't about to put them in the dish washer. So on a whim I bought one of these...

and a 1 gallon Cambro Food Bin so I don't have to fill the sink. I didn't know what to use to clean the glasses so I just decided to use PBW.

Holy crap, this thing works like a charm. The glasses are cleaner than ever, spotless, and the beer doesn't decarbonate on grease spots on the side anymore after air drying. My glasses are perfect now. Once I get the cabinet I won't have to worry about dust or TPW breaking them. I wish I'd done this a long time ago.

The only thing I need is to get a smaller diameter brush for the glencairn glasses. They don't fit on the one in the picture.

Did you get that from Amazon? I think I may pick one up.

I use a similar washer from Polder, and also use a tub dedicated for beer glassware.

Works great.  Pic of washer:

I think the trick on all of this is hot soapy water, a hot rinse and air-dry. I typically take a sponge with hot soapy water, clean the glass inside and out, rinse with hot water and then upside down (on a paper towel or something) to air dry. Seems to work.

Our water here is so alkaline that the dry cycle on the dishwasher will etch all glassware eventually.   Figured that out after living here a couple of years.   All hand wash only for the finer glassware.

Agreed 100%; none of my beer glasses have ever seen the inside of my dishwasher.

I wash all mine by hand too. Not sure if my water would eventually ruin them and the occasional glass does end up in the dishwasher but not if I can help it.
