Why do these randomly decide to stop compressing? This happens on occasion and I have no idea why. Put in a new poppet and it wont compress either. Both work fine until the post is fully threaded, then they wont budge. Its fully lubed and worked fine before I disconnected the post to clean it. Why is this?

I've had a few that were longer than others and would only use them in the longer post. Tried one in the short post and it wouldnt compress.

I had good luck with the replacement ones. A lot easier to clean too.

Agree, I have a bunch of these and when a keg has a bad poppet these go into service.

I am using what I believe was called a universal poppet when I bought it. Maybe it is not. Is this what you guys are using?

Never had an issues with those, that is what I was referring too.  I do remember a post long ago about someone that had issues and trimmed a bit of the spring to get them to work right.

Thanks. The ones I pictured above are not what I have. I just put a few of those in my cart at Ritebrew. The ones I have look different and were called "universal" when I bought them but maybe they are not. Just weird how they seem to work fine for a long time and then suddenly don't fit right in the post.
