Getting pretty lit on Lagunitas 12th of Never after watching my Auburn tiger dismantle Mississipi State! LSU losing to Troy didn't hurt either!

Laying in bed with two beautiful girls, catching up on Fear The Walking Dead and hatching a bit of rum.

Made a couple of a pre-prohibition classic cocktail tonight.  It was really really delicious. Will be putting it in the rotation.  Yes, it is slightly fruity.  Yes it comes out pink.  Dont care.  Delicious.

It is called the Clover Club (named after a Philly gentlemen's club).  Just give it a try.  Here is the recipe I used from the intertubes.  I didnt bother with the dry shake (hehe).  I just put it all in the shaker with ice and shook it like it owed me money for 30 sec or so.   Oh and I used frozen raspberries and regular sugar to make the syrup.  Sue me.

Clover Club

  • 1.5oz (45ml) of dry gin
  • .5oz (15ml) of raspberry syrup
  • .5oz (15ml) of fresh lemon juice
  • .5oz (15ml) of dry vermouth
  • 1/2 white of 1 large egg
  • 2 fresh raspberries

1.      Add gin, raspberry syrup, lemon juice, and dry vermouth to a shaker tin with ice

2.      Shake for 10 seconds, and double strain out ice into shaker

3.      Add egg white to shaker tin

4.      Dry shake for 10 seconds

5.      Pour into chilled coupe glass

6.      Garnish with raspberries

Raspberry Syrup

  • 1 cup (125g) fresh raspberries
  • 2 cups (400g) superfine sugar
  • 1 cup (230ml) water
  • Saucepan

1.      Add raspberries and sugar into saucepan and muddle together

2.      Add water and bring to a simmer

3.      Stir and simmer for 10 minutes

4.      Strain into container

5.      Add a touch of vodka to help preserve

6.      Store in refrigerator for up to a month

My daughter turned 8

My parents brought her to my gig last night. Brought her up on stage and had the crowd sing along to Happy Birthday. Embarrasssed the heck out of her. Good times
