Picked up 110 # of CM 2-row, 55# of CM wheat and 55# of CM rye today. It was a good day. Still have about 40# of Breiss 20C because NB made a mistake.
And a bag of cherry wood while I was there. City boys need to get it while they can.

This thread reminds me that I need to get more grain soon.
Down to ~30lb each of Weyermann and Avangard pils, ~10lb of Munich, and ~10lb of wheat.
Probably in October.

I believe I have 5 full sacks of avangard pils, a full sack of vienna, and partials in the buckets (avangard pils, munich, vienna, victory, maize, rye, wheat), a full sack of some old CMC wheat (2012, I think?).
Our club just put an order in too, so I have another 2 sacks of avangard pils, 2 sacks of munich, and a sack of wheat coming in. I always seem to run out of munich, so I made sure to get two sacks this time.
I also keep about 2-4 pounds of over 20 different specialty grains on hand in square plastic 1 gallon screwtop containers that I got from US Plastics years ago.
I remember there was one group buy that had been 2-3 years after the previous group buy, and I had run out of base grains, so I was paranoid and bought somewhere around 15 sacks just to make sure I would have enough for a long time.

Haha. That doesn't seem normal to you?
I want to make sure that I have enough base grain on hand to more than hold over until the next group buy.
I've also started a barleywine solera that requires a lot of grain to make the 20 gallons I need for each year.
Plus, why not? Haha.
Part of it is also since it lasts so long, it would be useful in an emergency as food as a last resort.

I hear you, don't blame you one bit. If I had the room I would probably do the same. If you can get a good price and not sure when the next time it will happen again, why not.Haha. That doesn't seem normal to you?
