I made a beer with 2308 that turned out fine. I made another one and that beer was brought out of primary yesterday and sent to a keg. When I popped the top I noticed an unusual aroma in the beer. It wasn't anything I have ever noticed before but it was not normal. The beer looked fine and was very clear. I kept smelling it and kept thinking that something was off and I was about to make another beer and didn't want to take any chances so I grabbed a pack of S-189 for the new batch. I am gelling and carbing the suspect beer and I'll see how it tastes when I sample it. Meanwhile I have used this Bayern yeast 6 times and all is good. The S-189 batch was put into the fridge last night around 6:30 and is bubbling away right now & it smells beautiful. Weirdness. Ah, 2308... we hardly knew ye. :D
