So I've been messing around with different homemade syrups for the Berliner weisse batches I've been brewing and was trying to come up with something interesting and original for the Emerald Coast Brew Fest my club pours at every year in Pensacola. Yesterday it hit me: Add some salt, and make a grapefruit simple syrup. A grapefruit Gose! Brilliant! Even thought of a name: Salty Dog! I'm a fecking genius! Googled it to see if anyone else had done something similar.

OMFG

I'm doing it anyway.

So I made the Gose (sans coriander) and served it with the grapefruit syrup. It was a huge hit at the Fest! It and my Berliner weisse with raspberry syrup were the first two kegs to float at our club booth. Real crowd pleasers, both.

If you think you have an original recipe idea, you will be disappointed.

Actually, one of my locals, Penrose, makes a delicious Grapefruit radler. I usually never drink that style, but it's just so good!

Penrose makes a lot of great beer. I have yet to taste one of their beers that wasn't fantastic.
