Thanks, everyone! The garage will be slowly heating up over the next few days as it gets warmer out so I'll give a swirl and see what happens.

 

BTW, I know that it's been a long time since I last brewed but $4 for dry yeast really sounds high to me! Is that normal?

It's the "new" normal, yes. 

 

Do you save and re-use your yeast cakes? That's a good way to keep the cost down.
