So my blow-off stopper and tubing have a nice stain on them and smell slightly of hops, even after multiple cleanings including using PBW. I know these are relatively cheaps things to replace but is there any good way to completely clean them? Even if I can't remove the stains or hops smell, can they still be considered sanitary?

Do you have any Beer Line Cleaner around? I think that should strip off just about anything.

after using some fresh hops my primary bucket (even after soaking for a couple of days in oxiclean) still smells like hops. I'm not worried about it.So my blow-off stopper and tubing have a nice stain on them and smell slightly of hops, even after multiple cleanings including using PBW. wouldn't the Croison protect the beer?by the time the beer is finished out and ready to rack out to secondary or keg, youshould be ok. if it's that big of a worry than buy a few more stoppers to have on hand.Mine is almost 10yrs old and hasn't been a problem yet.(Mine is the Orange shinny plastickind.)the tubbing on the other hand shouldn't be a big deal either.if you have ran it through Oxiclean and PBW and it's still stained no worries.just sanitize and hook it up. all of my blow off tubes are stained some from hops but mostly from the iodaphore sanitizer.some plastics are more porus than others and can become imbedded with stuff.just like Tupperware.

Soak in oxyclean, rinse, then soak in starsan. If it is not clean after that replace. A day in each is not too much.
