Probably going to Dallas for work in the near future. I'll probably be in the Garland area. Any brewpubs or similar that I shouldn't miss? I'm not sure if anyone is local.

Try and get some Jester King https://jesterkingbrewery.com/find
Live Oak is also good, they are in Austin but I am not sure how distribution down there is.

Intrinsic is in Garland, good BBQ and they make good beer. Lakewood is close by. Oak Highlands is close too - good. Been to all those recently.
Head down to the Deep Ellum area if you have the chance. Braindead has top notch food, lots of local craft beer on tap and of course their house brews on tap too. Our son Drew (drewseslu) is the head brewer there. Lots of other places there to eat/drink. That area has really taken off in the last few years.
Deep Ellum Brewery - let's just leave it at Drew gave them notice and walked. Much happier person and family after that.
There are a lot more there. Craft beer has caught up fast in Dallas.

I'll have to check where these spots are in relation to where we'll be staying once that gets sorted. Thanks!
I tried to pick ones close to Garland. Braindead isn't that far away but traffic - well it sucks in Dallas. I am so spoiled where we live.

Assuming they don't just stick is close to the airport we'll likely be in Garland. At the very least I'll be in Garland during the day so I'll be around.

is it safe to say that us out of towners shouldn't try to venture downtown with our rental car?

I had the privilege of drinking Drew's homebrew beers while he was a snot nosed college kid. I was impressed then and so has all the folks he has worked for over the years. Don't miss Braindead.

Braindead is easy to get to from there. Get on 75 southern, exit at Good Latimer and you're a couple blocks away.

easy to park around there? I'm used to places like Boston where parking can sometime be a real PITA.

Pecan Lodge is just down the street from Braindead. The place would be a hit in KC.

how do they say pecan down there?
eta: if I make it to braindead should I ask for drew? I'm not sure he'll really remember me even if I mentioned past names on the forum. I think that's his only connection to me that I know of.
