I use the cheap hi temp black bbq grill spray paint. It actually holds up very well, even around burners. Repaint every few years. Each can is under $4. Its Rustoleum bbq hi temp black.

Auto parts stores have high temp spray paint that's used for brake parts. Not sure what it costs.

My Brutus was done in a powder coat. once.the area that burnt off we re did in Black High temp. Stove Paint. it takes a few coats. but it's cheap, easy to use. and holds up.if worried about bumps and scratches use the under coating stuff.or spray on bed liner. just keep away from burner area's no sense in wasting it.

This is what I used, and it's held up great.

The burners are in high temp black. The brewstand (I have a 3 piece) are in appliance semi-gloss beige. That way I can see the wort drippings to wipe it off.
