This game looks really good. Open Beta starts tomorrow and Friday depending on what platform you use. Anyone else looking forward to this?

I had a thread about it. Played the closed beta and it was good. Not sure if I will bother with this one or not.
This beta that is, the game itself is shut up and take my money good.

I thought I remembered a thread. Search didn't bring it up. Hoping my PC will play it.

Thank you sir! I wasn't sure if they would know yet with it not truly being out. I have an integrated GPU so some things don't work real well, looking at you Witcher 3. Hoping to get a dedicated GPU soon. Running an AMD A10-7850k right now.

Dumb question...

How do you play pc games?  With a joystick or mouse?

I don't know how guys do the keyboard and mouse. I just can't move quick enough. I play a lot of Diablo so that is just mouse. Any shooters I use an Xbox controller.

Yep, X-box controllers work right away.  Some games have mods available through steam to set hot keys on the d-pad that can be helpful.

For shooters the mouse/keyboard combo is WAY better than controller.  Imagine instead of the slow turning and sweeping you can just move your mouse a little and aim headshots way before someone with a controller sweeps over to try to aim.  There really is no comparison.

I just can't get the movement down well enough. Strafing is damn near impossible with accuracy. I am just talking about my skill not your statement. I suck at it.

You have to strafe with the keyboard and use free-aim on the mouse.  So strafe left=A, right=D.  Walk forward=W, backward=S, spacebar=Jump.  Then free-look/aim with mouse and you can do some wicked circular moves while jumping that would be impossible with a controller.

Aint no one ever picked up a mouse and waved it in the air hoping to get their character to move in the direction they want.

I haven't had any luck with wireless because they're reading the X-box.  There may be some wireless usb adapter, but I just use a wired controller.

I think I just need to reassign the keys and give it another try.

Don't get me wrong, it takes a lot of practice, but once you get comfortable with the keys and get used to it it's far superior.

I only play on console's now, but I totally miss playing on the keyboard and mouse on PC
