So, I'm designing this whole new fancy all electric, completely automated brewing system for my basement. I've been hoping to get it done (at least to the point where I can run it manually) before the snow comes, but it's a pretty complex system so it's taking a while to get together. I've been kind of freaking out because I don't want to have to quit brewing for the winter while I get the new system up and running. So this has been going on for like two months. Today, as I'm mashing in, I look at my system and it dawns on me...all I have to do is add an electric element to my kettle and I can drag the whole thing into the basement. For like a year, or more, I've been wanting to go all electric, and it never crossed my mind that I could simply use the system I have and add one or two elements to it. I was so focused on building a new fancy, all automated, push-a-button-to-brew system that I never even considered the obvious and simple solution to take my brewing inside. All I can say is...

I agree, sometimes the easiest solution is right there.Takes a re-assesment and/or a new angle and then it comes to a guy.Congrats again, show some pics when you get it set-up.
