There is a Belgian (or French?) beer that's called something like Biere des Sans Coulottes... loosely translated to "without pants" which refers to poor revolutionaries who could not afford pants so they wore some sort of smocks. The story is on page 54 of Beer Captured. Of course, brewing without pants would be a good pastime regardless of that story.

everything I do is without pants anyway. I stand in my front window and do the " helicopter". The neighbors love it!
