Funny I built mine out of a cigar box as well. Going to build another soon.

Cool project. If these were strong enough to take bigger than a 2L flask I'd seriously consider one.

are the boxes really flimsy?  i'm surprised they can't handle the weight of a 5L flask + starter/

No the boxes are nice and strong.  I think its the fan and magnets he is testing.
